Current Exhibition // Trace

"Trace" brings together a series of works that examine the subtle, often overlooked structures that shape human experience—whether personal, intergenerational, or spatial. Across books, performances, and site-specific interventions, the exhibition investigates how memory, routine, and environmental rhythm leave imprints on our lives, and how individuals navigate the forces that choreograph movement, meaning, and identity.

Together, these works articulate a central premise: that our lives are formed not only by monumental events but by the quiet patterns, inherited histories, and immediate surroundings that guide how we move through the world. Trace invites viewers to consider the marks we carry forward, the ones we leave behind, and the systems—visible and invisible—that connect them.

Trace a Quest of Memory

Book, 2012

Trace is a book that preserves the memories of three diverse women from the great generation. Born between 1920 & 1930, this book rises and falls as each woman's accounts through segregation through WWII, through the Depression are weaved together to form one narrative. From the eastern shores of Kobe, Japan to the Smokey Mountains of Knoxville, TN this book illustrates that although our day to day adversities and triumphs may seem menial, they all contribute to a larger tapestry that will influence the generations of tomorrow.

Sidewalk Sounds

Performance Art, Sound Art, 2014

Inspired by the site-specific sound installations of Max Neuhaus (1939–2009), Sidewalk Sound draws attention to the unnoticed rhythms embedded in everyday urban life. The performance isolates and amplifies a sound most pedestrians overlook—the percussive click of rolling objects crossing the grooves between concrete sidewalk squares. These seams, spaced roughly four to five feet apart, form an infrastructural metronome that quietly frames our movement through cities. Sidewalk Sound makes this latent meter audible.
